2 Stroke Racing

I had the pleasure of racing Sleepy Hollow MX for the first time ever! The track was deep and technical, but nothing I haven’t been used to. It was great practice even if my results were nothing to be proud of. The highlight of my racing were my starts. Out of 17 racers I was able to pull top 5 starts in both motos. I used advise given to me by my trainer, Frenchie, and the holeshot king himself, Mike Alessi. Both had advised me to start in 1st gear instead of second (125cc 2 stroke) and keep one foot up to quickly shift to second gear after launch. It worked twice! I had chosen an inside gate and could take a very commanding position over the other racers. I charged the best I could for an overall mid pack finish.
Meeting Mike was a really cool experience for me, but even better for some of the younger riders that look up to me. I was pitted right next to Mike and he hung out at my pit for about a half hour talking to some kids that have my graphics on their bikes. Introducing these upcoming young riders as my protege, Mike gave them autographed goggles, posters, and signed their jerseys. He also signed my bike. I hope Mike made these kids weekends. Watching these young racers light up certainly made my weekend!
